Now Hiring: Police Training Assistant – Odessa Police Department
The Odessa Police Department is seeking a detail-oriented Police Training Assistant to coordinate department training activities and maintain accurate, compliant training records. This position plays a vital role in supporting the professional development of OPD personnel and ensuring training requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate OPD training programs and maintain state-required training databases.
Review, update, and maintain training records and prepare mandated training reports.
Process travel reimbursement requests related to training activities.
Respond to employee training requests while maintaining strict confidentiality of all records.
Provide professional, courteous support to department staff and the public.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
One (1) year of experience with computers and customer service required; experience in training, education, or public contact preferred.
Background investigation and polygraph required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in standard computer software.
Knowledge of Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) training standards and records management is preferred.
