Description
Primary Duties
Respond to calls for service (disturbances, burglaries, crashes, suspicious activity, etc.).
Patrol assigned areas and enforce state and local laws.
Conduct traffic enforcement and direct traffic when needed.
Investigate crimes, collect and preserve evidence, and prepare reports.
Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects.
Execute arrest warrants and make arrests.
Testify in court when required.
Provide emergency medical aid within training.
Perform community policing and crime prevention activities.
Assist stranded motorists and provide other public services.
Maintain assigned equipment and patrol vehicle.
Completely required TCOLE and departmental training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Full-time paid law enforcement experience is required.
Current Basic Peace Officer License issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Valid Texas Class C driver's license.
Must successfully pass:
Comprehensive background investigation
Drug screening
Medical examination
Interview(s) with the Police Chief or designee(s)
Must be available to work at least 24 hours per month.
