Description
| Under general supervision, is responsible for determining work methods and applying technical expertise in diagnosing malfunctions in solid- state and vacuum circuitry. Troubleshoots, repairs, upgrades, and maintains traffic signal and traffic/revenue control electronic and electro-mechanical equipment. Working conditions are inside and outside with exposure to temperature variations, damp/wet surfaces, high noise areas, dust, and unfavorable fumes and vapors. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff. Work Location 6927 W Commerce (Southwest Service Center), San Antonio, Texas 78228 Work Hours 6:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. , Monday - Thursday |
| ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: |

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Three (3) years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment.
- Must obtain the appropriate type of Texas Commercial 'CDL' or Texas operator's license within ninety (90) days of employment. The type of license required will be determined by the location and type and size of vehicle operated.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six (6) months electronic experience.
- Ability to estimate time and materials to successfully complete assigned tasks or projects.
- Experience maintaining accurate record/log history of time and materials used in the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment.
- Knowledge of I/A operating systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic systems to diagnose electronic problems and perform required repairs.
- Experience repairing floodgates, water circulating systems, computer operations and monitoring of flood control systems.
- Experience installing, altering, repairing and maintaining special metering, and recording equipment used in water and sewage treatment plants.
