- Street Maintenance Manager

Summary
Under general direction, responsible for management of the Street Department’s maintenance services division, consisting of street maintenance and stormwater maintenance. Complex administrative work encompassing budget administration, contract management, and project management is performed to maintain service delivery standards. The role ensures high quality maintenance and repair services, while supporting daily operations and long-term planning.
Pay Range: $90,833.60- 101,316.80 (Depending on qualifications and experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, prioritizes, and directs assigned staff and other resources to effectively deliver maintenance services
Manages all phases for maintenance projects and programs
Manages customer service requests to ensure timely completion
Develops and manages annual budget for the maintenance services division
Prepares cost estimates for equipment, labor and materials for budgetary needs
Administers various vendor contracts supporting division functions
Frequently visits project work sites for inspection of work progress, quality, and compliance
Oversees the department’s equipment maintenance and repair functional area
Provides technical expertise as required to successfully deliver maintenance and construction projects
Collaborates with city staff to develop annual work plans
Develops and tracks service delivery indicators and related performance data
Responds to customer issues, concerns, and inquiries promptly and professionally
May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of public works operations and administration for streets and storm water systems
Knowledge of project, contract and budget management principles
Knowledge of operation and maintenance requirements for vehicles and construction equipment
Strong organization skills are essential for success in this position
Skill in managing the work of skilled-based and technical staff
Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment and software
Skill in verbal and written communication
The ability to adapt comfortably through complex and varied organizational process, procedural, and people-related dynamics is essential for success in this role.
Ability to research and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships
Ability to read and interpret contracts and technical documents
Ability to work outside of normal work hours including evenings, weekends and on-call as required.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Class C Texas driver's license
