Description
The City of Lytle Police Department currently is accepting applications for full-time peace officers. We will be accepting applications until 5 PM on July 31, 2026. Lytle is a growing city along the IH-35 corridor, just 25 minutes south of downtown San Antonio. Our department has an authorized strength of 12 full-time Peace Officers. Our municipality includes parts of three counties, Atascosa, Bexar, and Medina.
Applicants must have an active Texas Peace Officer License or be enrolled in a TCOLE approved basic police academy.
Applicants will be subject to a thorough background check to include a polygraph exam.
Applicants must also pass a pre-employment physical and psychological exam
Pay for this position is $27 per hour ($60,021 yearly based on 2,223 hours per year).
TMRS retirement is 5% with a 2-1 match, with 5-year vesting.
Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance is provided at no cost to the employee
Dependent coverage is available, but it is very expensive
There are 15 paid city holidays (which amounts to an additional $3,240 per year)
All uniforms and equipment are provided, in addition to a $75 per month uniform maintenance allowance
Certification pay is available for those with qualify (College Degree and or TCOLE certifications above Basic)
