Assist the Director in planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the operations of the Asset Management Department, including the Facilities Maintenance and Fleet Maintenance divisions. Support the Director in coordinating departmental activities, managing operational priorities, and assisting with the development and implementation of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) related to City facilities and infrastructure. Exercise direct supervision over assigned staff.
Responsibilities
Assist the Director in providing leadership and supervision of assigned staff by supporting the planning, organizing, directing, and evaluation of departmental operations
Help ensure staff performance aligns with departmental goals, City policies, and operational objectives while promoting accountability, collaboration, and efficient service delivery
Support the Director in overseeing facility maintenance operations including preventive maintenance programs, construction projects, renovation of spaces, building and grounds maintenance, and compliance with applicable building codes and safety standards
Assist in the development, evaluation, and prioritization of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to support long-term facility and infrastructure needs
Assist the Director with the development, administration, and monitoring of the departmental budget by interpreting fiscal guidelines, coordinating budget preparation activities, reviewing revenue projections, and analyzing financial and statistical data
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support informed decision-making and responsible resource allocation
Support the Director in coordinating with City departments, external agencies, and stakeholders to ensure facility maintenance and operational needs are addressed effectively
Maintain strong working relationships with department leadership to identify service needs, improve operational efficiency, and ensure timely execution of maintenance and capital projects
Assist the Director in preparing City Council agenda items, executive memorandums, presentations, and other strategic communications for executive leadership review and City Council consideration
Support the Director in analyzing and presenting complex operational, financial, and policy matters to internal leadership, elected officials, and external stakeholders
Assist the Director in monitoring departmental performance by reviewing operational data, service delivery metrics, and maintenance performance indicators
Support the evaluation of departmental programs, identify opportunities for operational improvements, and recommend strategies to enhance efficiency, asset lifecycle management, and service delivery across City facilities and fleet operations
Other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)

Basis of Rating
